In May 2015 marks the 750th anniversary of the birth of Dante Alighieri.
The Foundation Credito Bergamasco decided to take the opportunity to develop targeted initiatives, designed to draw attention to the size of the figure of Dante and on the central themes of his work, tracing - in the current crisis prolonged and widespread distrust - an educational and cultural future-oriented, focusing on hope.
"In the current situation it seems interesting to note that the retrace the journey of Dante allows to return to the common roots of our culture, the Italian spirit and its core values, the size of the Italian genius - able to face what no one before or Then, he realized more - sending a message of pride, confidence in the future, awareness of our resources (intellectual and moral) that we derive from our history and our tradition, "so says the Secretary General of the Foundation, Dr. Angelo Piazzoli, specifying as a traveling exhibition dedicated to celebrating the Divine Comedy represents a concrete tool and an interesting opportunity to develop reflections, insights educational, and cultural moments of aggregation.
In particular, the Foundation has committed, two years ago, to Angelo Celsi the task of celebrating the extraordinary relevance of Dante Alighieri through the creation of twenty-five paintings of great size that well illustrate some episodes / characters of the Divine Comedy, in a fascinating journey through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise.
The exhibition - entitled "How people think of her journey" - was edited by Angelo Piazzoli and, on the literary, Enzo Noris, President of the Dante Alighieri Society of Bergamo.
The exhibition will have a wandering - which will involve a number of municipalities in the province of Bergamo (Romano di Lombardia, Lovere, Gromo, Grumello del Monte, Clusone) as well as the cities of Verona and Lodi, important locations of the Banco Popolare Group.
